A Snoopey0 production Hi guys, Snoopey here. In this video, I'll be showing you how to get infinite money in Red Dead Redemption 2, by duplicating gold bars. First, I'd like to thank redditorHoedoor101001110 for listing the details of how to complete this glitch. For this glitch to work you'll need a disable auto-saving which can be found in the Settings menu under "General". This glitch requires you to travel to a small burnt-out town south of Valentine and east of Strawberry, near the end of the Dakota River. It's very close to the starting camp in Chapter 2. I'm showing the location here. Head in to the sheriff's office, at the end of the town furthest from the river. Under a desk you'll find a lock box. Open the lockbox but don't loot anything yet. Okay, now save your game, exit to the menu, and load your game up again. You'll spawn near the town. Head back into the town and back into the sheriff's office. Now you can loot the gold bar - but it won't despawn, you can keep picking it up. Hold down X or square to keep looting until you pick up a maximum number of gold bars you can carry, which is 30. Now, you can either donate these directlyto your camp for $15,000 or you'll need to find a fence to sell them to. The closest fence is at Emerald Ranch. This requires that you have stolen the stagecoach with Hosea in Chapter 2. If you've not done this yet you'll need to head to another fence. Try heading to Saint Denis to sell them there. I'm heading to emerald ranch. Takes about three minutes to ride there in cinematic mode. Once you've arrived just sell all your bars to the fence to receive your hard-earned cash $$$ Mmmmmm... $15,000 All you need to do to repeat this is to go back to the open box in the sheriff's office. Save again, load your new save and then you can grab another 30 bars, for another $15,000 and do this indefinitely for infinite money. Congratulations! Cheers guys, and thanks for watching!

Why You would like to quit playing red dead redemption 2 game
Red Dead Redemption 2 is truly an achievementin game design. Still, that doesn't mean it's not withoutits flaws. Some are a little annoying, some are straightfrustrating, and, some... well, some occasionally make us want to use our controllers as claypigeons. Rockstar Games made just about everythingin Red Dead Redemption 2 rewarding, but that doesn't change how many things feel like chores. You'll even find that riding your horse requiresyou to hold a button down the entire time, or time button presses to gallops for maximumefficiency. That is, unless you use the auto-ride feature, which puts the camera into a sort of cinematic mode and instantly points your character inthe direction of the waypoint you set. The problem is, the world of Red Dead Redemption2 doesn't care if you're auto-riding while sitting in front of the TV or if you've goneto make yourself a sandwich while your character is in transit. It keeps on living. The bad guys still want to kill you — andthe natural obstacles don't just disappear. If you set yourself to auto-ride and walkaway, you shouldn't be entirely surprised if you come back and find you're dead. Rival gangs still roam the roads and trailsin Red Dead 2. And the law is still on the lookout if youhave outstanding bounties. You ma y believe you've found some loopholethat lets you catch up on some email while Arthur or John make their way across the mapto the mission target. But really, all you're doing is leaving yourselfvulnerable to attack. Thanks, Rockstar. "Wow, that's — thanks so much." Unless you were fortunate enough to use somekind of gold bar exploit, money is extremely hard to come by early on in Red Dead Redemption2. Your share of gang robberies is pretty paltry. It seems like anyone you hold up yourselfis poor as hell. And if you want your character to wear somenicer clothes or shoot some nicer guns, you're going to have to spend that dough like a bigboy. Which is why it's wholly frustrating to berobbed totally blind without being able to hunt down the jerks who stole from you likethe animals they are. "Hey friend! Come here a minute. Trust me, you wanna hear this. I promise. You gonna wanna hear this." This happens a couple of times in Saint Denis. Some sketchy dude will call you over, you'llfollow him down an alley, his ruffian friends will knock you out from behind, and, whenyou come to, you'll find that — surprise! — your cash has been swiped. Of course, the bad dudes who assaulted youhave expectedly peaced out, and no amount of hunting will lead you to their doorstep. That money is just gone forever. You'll never get to exact your revenge. And if you had plans for how you were goingto spend that money, well, too bad, sucker. "Didn't your mama warn you 'bout followingstrangers?" "C'mon, let's see what he's got." To put so much time into growing your wealth, only for it to be gone in an instant, is always enough to send you into a fit of rage. "Give me back my money!" Even the most die-hard Red Dead Redemption2 fans will admit that Rockstar may have tried to do a little too much with the game. There are unique actions for almost anythingyou can do. Controller buttons perform those differentactions depending on the situation. It's entirely possible to take a step backand see the same button now does something totally different, just because you aren'tstanding next to a drawer, or a person you can interact with … or your horse. For reasons that are unknown — and reasonsthat make Red Dead 2 players want to hurl themselves off a cliff — Rockstar mappedthe action for getting on your horse to the same button as the one used to tackle someone. If you're in a crowded town and someone happensto be standing next to your horse, you can understand why this might have some unintendedconsequences. "What's the idea? Damnation!" All you wanted to do is saddle up and getto the next mission in peace… but RDR2's controls have something else in mind. Namely, an unwanted fight leading to the popoon your tail. It's infuriating. And you'd be totally justified in shuttingthe game down so you can cool off. Or, y'know, just taking out the whole town. Red Dead Redemption 2 is overflowing withmissions, side quests, and mysteries. Not only that, the game encourages you toexplore every nook and cranny. You can log every animal species into a database. You can craft items from their hides. You can play for probably 100 hours and neverfinish everything. But some people like to try by revisitingthe game's world after they get through the main story campaign. Unfortunately, there's a problem with thatapproach. You see, Red Dead Redemption 2 wisely builtmost of its side quests so that John Marston could complete them, even after Arthur diesin the campaign. "Years ago a friend of mine helped you retrieveyour horse… you became friends." "Oh, yeah, Arthur. Yeah." But there are some quests that are meant forArthur only — specifically, the ones that take place while the gang is hiding out atvarious camp sites throughout the story. When the location of camp moves, these questsdisappear, and they can no longer be played again unless you start an entirely new storyplaythrough. Basically, if you're a completist and youdidn't finish everything in Arthur's story, you'll have to start over. And if you thought it was a slog the firsttime, just wait until you have to do it again. Red Dead Redemption 2 does a lot of thingsright. Say what you will about the length of thestory, but it's truly moving and does a great job as a prequel, setting up the events of2010's Red Dead Redemption. You also have to credit the attention to detailin every little thing the game shows off, living or not. It takes video game realism to another level, and there's a good chance you'll never see another game hit this bar until Rockstar makessome sort of follow-up. But goodness gracious, are Red Dead 2's controlsgodawful or what? Whether you're playing as Arthur Morgan orJohn Marston, it doesn't matter — they both move like they have cinder blocks strappedto their feet. Everyone laughed at The Legend of Zelda: Breathof the Wild for bragging about the intelligence of its horses, but we promise, you won't belaughing once your horse in Red Dead Redemption 2 rams into a damn tree or a freaking rockfor the hundredth time. “Stupid horse!" All throughout Red Dead Redemption 2, thegang is on the run, trying to scrape enough money together to eventually make an escapeand live free of the law. But it doesn't always go to plan. Things go wrong. Heists get foiled. And the gang is forced to move from one makeshiftcamp to another, with everyone doing their best to gather enough resources and come upwith enough cash to survive. "So, what are we doing next, Dutch?" "We just need money..." Just kidding. Actually, it's your character that seems tobe doing all of the heavy lifting. You're the best shot, so you're always senton every mission as protection. And not only that, everyone relies on youto stock the camp with food. And find medicine. And purchase enough ammunition for everyoneto keep their weapons loaded. You're also apparently the main source ofincome. When you stop by the camp's money box andmake a deposit, you'll often find that everyone is donating cents at a time, while you'rebankrolling the entire operation. Everyone else dallies around. Dutch reads his philosophy books. And you're doing all the hard work. It'll make you angry every time you open theledger. "Where's the money?" "They hit me!" "Where's the money?!" There's nothing worse in a video game thanbabysitting missions. You might remember having to guard Natalyain GoldenEye 007. It was the absolute worst. It takes those kinds of companions to appreciatethe useful ones, like Elizabeth in BioShock Infinite, who tosses you ammo, opens tears, and manages to keep herself alive. If Elizabeth can survive without your help, why can't your gang members in Red Dead Redemption 2? Dutch's gang is a bunch of rough-n-tumblebadasses! Elizabeth is basically a Disney Princess! It just doesn't make any sense. "No… it damn well doesn't." When a gunfight breaks out, you have enoughto worry about. You're usually taking cover behind something, trying to shoot down enemies without getting pumped full of lead yourself. The least your fellow bandits can do is holdtheir own and stay alive long enough for the mission to end. Apparently, that's too much to ask. If you aren't keeping a watchful eye on theseso-called killers, acting as a chaperone while also thinning the herd of hostiles, they'llinevitably be shot to death … and you'll have to start all over. Please, don't make us babysit our allies ingames. “I'm gonna let you in on a little secret:I'm not a real babysitter." For all of the realism you'll find in RedDead Redemption 2, there are a couple of things that ask you to suspend disbelief. The game encourages you to eat regularly, for instance, in order to keep your health and stamina up. But you can play the entire game without eatinga single thing. You can lose your hat in a heated battle, leaving it on the ground as you walk or ride away. Yet somehow, that hat always seems to findits way back into your horse's satchel. But those are tiny things. The fact that enemies can take multiple shotsand act like they don't feel a thing? That's a pretty huge leap in logic. We get that it's a video game, and one-shotkills might make gunplay pretty boring. But this is a game that leans in to make everythingelse so lifelike. Your horse gets tired if you ride too far, while enemies can soak up bullets like it's no big deal — it's complete nonsense. Let's get one thing straight: the shootingin Red Dead Redemption 2 is pretty awful. It's hard to aim properly. Your targeting is easily knocked off everytime you get hit by an enemy. And those opposing gunfighters are incrediblysquirrelly behind cover. Fortunately, Red Dead 2's Dead Eye systemhelps level the playing field. It slows down time, giving you an opportunityto hit moving targets more easily and shoot far more accurately. It's a godsend. But there's a problem. Dead Eye charges slowly. If you run out of the consumables needed torecharge it quickly, you'll be in a really bad spot when a shootout occurs. It always seems to happen at the worst time— you'll be getting flanked both left and right, trying to peek out and gun down enemieswho never seem to provide an opening. Because the shooting in the game is so bad, you're bound to lose your life a few times simply trying to land a shot or two. And because you're out of Dead Eye consumables, you'll meet this same fate over and over. The official end of Red Dead Redemption 2'sepilogue is immensely satisfying. If you're like most people, you go throughArthur's story absolutely hating Micah. When you learn he's the source of most ofthe gang's misery, you hate him even more. "You pick your side now, because this is over. All them years, Dutch… for this snake?" And long after Arthur's passed, when you getto play as John Marston and deliver sweet justice to Micah, it all feels worth it. But wow, the fight up the mountain to reachMicah's cabin in the epilogue will make you angrier than any video game has any rightto. For some reason, Rockstar thought it wouldbe totally fine to send you up a mountainside with zero cover. Meanwhile, every single one of Micah's men— random goons that shouldn't be that great at handling a gun — suddenly become expertmarksmen. They can somehow see you coming around a bendbefore you ever get there, and once they're able to train their sights on you, there'snot a lot you can do to respond. You'll likely die a whole lot trying to survivethe game's final mission. Just remember it's fine to take a break — and,no, by "take a break," we don't mean snapping the disc in two. Before Dutch can decidewho to believe, John, having survived the robbery, stumbles into camp and accuses Dutch of abandoning him. Theconfrontation is interrupted by a small army of Pinkertonsgunning for them all. Dutch, Micah, and theremaining gang members run off, leaving Arthur and Johnto fight by themselves. Red Dead Redemption 2 story
There are few moments in gaming more iconicthan the end of Red Dead Redemption; where John is betrayed by the government he’sbeen working for and the character we’ve been playing the entire game is gunned downin broad daylight. There’s a number of reasons it’s stuckin people’s memories for so long—the onslaught of gunfire followed by silence, the starklong shot lingering on John’s slow collapse, the fact that it’s rare to outright killa protagonist in a game that doesn’t just stop once the credits roll. But for me, the main reason this ending worksso well is that control the game places in your hands as John strides out of the barn. It’s the briefest few seconds you couldimagine, but it also feels like an eternity lurching along; this is your chance to fight, but you know you’re only prolonging the inevitable. It’s only around fifteen people—nothingin typical video game terms, especially from a developer whose games have been consideredthe epitome of violent rampage. Trevor, for instance, could handle this inhis sleep; in most other games, you could take this. But you’ve been trained throughout Redemptionto realise that, even with your psychic slo-mo sniper powers and cover at your disposal, you can’t quite endure the punishment of your typical video game hero. A relatively small flurry of bullets fromone or two enemies catching you off guard, even in cover, can spell the end of a fight,so you know that stepping into the open with fifteen of them standing right in front ofyou is never going to end well. I can think of a few times games have cutaway from the action or betrayed my ability as a player to get out of a sticky situation;where there’s no real gameplay reason for a character to feel tired or sacrifice themselvesoutside of the story dictating it through cutscenes. Situations that, were you in control, youcould feasibly avoid. Red Dead, on the other hand, doesn’t needto pull the wool over your eyes—through everything the game has taught you about John’sfragility in combat that you control, you share his dread as he stares through the crackin the door, but at the very least you’re going to be the one to make those treacherousbastards work for their ill-gotten trophy. Killing off a protagonist isn’t anythingnew, but thanks to its believable framing as a gameplay set-piece consistent with howyou’ve played up to that point, it’s rarely this poignant, this engaging. Of course, the poignancy of this moment isn’tpurely down to the few seconds of control you’re afforded in one small segment atthe end of the game, but it is a result of a long build up of other such moments in whichthe writers and developers use your interaction to convey the game’s larger themes. For example, the minutes at a time you spendriding through the relatively empty desert acts more as a means of atmospheric storytellingthan showcasing a world that’s yours for the taking; allowing you to truly soak inthe arid, decaying nature of what Dutch and his gang are desperately grasping onto. Everyone will tell you different things aboutwhat needs destroying in this world and what needs put in its stead, but the reality ofthis bluster is all around you, conveyed without words and through experience—simply by venturingthrough the world, you’re experiencing the decline of the old West, and the rot inherentto the so-called civilisation replacing it. More importantly, however, I believe the gameutilises the notion of player agency in its mission design to tell a story about the consequencesof blindly following orders, and offers a surprisingly nuanced take on the cyclical, meaningless nature of violence and revenge as a result. John, despite wanting to leave his outlawlife behind and be a better person, is still a remorseless killer. He’ll kill for whoever’s asking, regardlessof what they stand for or what implications it might have on the lives of those left behind. He kills for rebels who, despite their idealism, envision their revolution paved with the blood of child soldiers and rely on figureheadsless concerned with achieving change than achieving orgasm. He kills indigenous people for racist, drug-addledmaniacs who claim moral superiority in their quest for civilisation while flat out callingthemselves the bad guys. John kills at cross-purposes and in the faceof serious moral reasoning, will joke about why he’s going with the bad guy instead. At multiple points he states his lack of anykind of affiliation, that he’s simply doing what he’s doing because he’s told to. In every case, no matter how terrible theperson at the end of John’s gun is, their response remains the same: “at least I standfor something.” And what’s crucial is that, whoever’sat the business end of John’s gun, you as a player are at the other. Like John, you have no inherent side in this;you may have just thought “GTA with cowboys sounds fun”, followed a dotted line to theobjective marker and shot the people there without question and even if you did startto question it once you realised the strangeness of John’s situation, it’s not like youhad a choice in the matter—this is a game about the ruthless, lawless nature of theWild West, where you can get a game over screen for breaking the law. Of course, whatever you’re doing, you’realmost always breaking the law in some form or another, but you just weren’t breakingthe law in the right way, for the people holding your family hostage. John might say he has no affiliation, buthe, and by extension you, are always doing something for somebody, you’re always furtheringan agenda of some kind. Your character has everything to lose andyou want to see the story play out, so you toe the line mechanically speaking, even ifyou grow to feel you’re on the wrong side. At the game’s conclusion, as you step outthose doors, you’re forced to confront the culmination of your actions, or perhaps yourcharacter’s inaction in doing the right thing. What if, on some level, the bad guys wereright? What if there really are families of the fallenout there celebrating John’s death even as we mourn him? Did we do any good here or did we merely commitheinous crimes for different people than we did before? As the hail of gunfire rains down upon ourprotagonist, you perhaps realise that the game has been telling you something all along—evenwhen the people you’ve been helping finally get the civilisation they’ve had you killingfor, there’s always going to be another monster. The violence will never stop. And in the game’s epilogue, this messagebecame, depressingly, fully realised to me. During the last act you perhaps unwittinglymanage to steer your son away from a life of education and peace in his attempts toimpress you, to keep you around. After John’s death, you see the toll youractions have taken. As Jack, you accept a random side quest andfollow the markers as you always have done to achieve your remarkably unceremonious revengeby shooting Edgar into a river under a dreary sky. Credits roll. The game just continues. And it’s hard not to think that a betterending might have been to just… stop. To let Jack live a better life, and let anold fool, with all of his crooked ideals, fade into oblivion. At least Jack might have learned something, then. Now the game obviously isn’t as hard hittingan examination of player culpability as something like Spec Ops: The Line, but when revisitingRedemption it was hard for me not to envision writer Walt Williams’ assertion that anunofficial ending of that game is to simply put down the controller and stop playing. It’s interesting to see a game toy withits players in this way a couple of years before Yager’s storytelling masterpiece;itself a shooter with less-than-stellar mechanics, but which uses its framework to convey a messagegreater than the sum of its parts. Likewise, Redemption might not have the mostvibrant open world or the most over-the-top gameplay or mission design that reacts toyour choices, but the story it tells with these limited considerations in mind (anddespite the obvious caveat that none of it is worth sacrificing the wellbeing of thepeople realising it) easily elevates the game to the peak of Rockstar’s ouevre. Red Dead Redemption 2 game play review
They'll probably hang you, buddy. You coming? Buddy. In the late 1800's, America was evolving, on its way to becoming the most powerful country in the world. New immigrants arrived, thriving outposts became towns and civilization was spreading rapidly into the huge wild and lawless frontier. With Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games aims to create a living world that is not simply open, but deeper, Come on, pretty boy. more interactive and detailed than ever, Pretty boy? combining action, storytelling We need to get those people warm and fed. and gameplay in new ways as you live, ride and fight to survive as an outlaw in a notorious gang. As long as we get paid or you get shot I'm happy. The game is an attempt to capture this pivotal moment when the age of outlaws was ending, and the modern world was born. There is a huge world to explore set across a range of America's heartland and frontier – from harsh mountain trails and dense forests to untamed swamplands and sweeping deserts, rugged livestock towns to modernizing cities and much more, all populated with a diverse cast of characters from turn of the century life. Now shoo, please. I'm waiting for someone interesting to turn up. You play as Arthur Morgan, a trusted senior gun in the Van der Linde gang, a band of outlaws and outcasts on the run from the pressures of civilized life. We are gonna borrow a little money from old Uncle Sam... ... and be out of his hair, once and for all. Each time they are forced to flee an area, the gang sets up a camp as a base. This is where gang members eat, sleep, perform chores, play games and share stories. Anyway I got caught by some hill country sheriff, stealing a chicken I think it was... ...and he decided I was going to be hanged for it. These are the people Arthur calls family, and you will get to know each gang member over the course of the game. So, you saved the silly bastard's life then you and him go robbing sheep? Helping the camp with food and supplies will keep morale high, while spending time with other gang members can reveal new secrets, fun things to do and opportunities for mischief. How about you and me go and redistribute some property? In and out of camp, the world is alive and responds to the player, Well, ain't this a rare treat? and your guns aren't the only way to interact with the environment. Call out to a passing rider, That's a nice horse. talk yourself into trouble with a local tough guy Clear out. or out of trouble with a town sheriff or intimidate a witness into silence and more. Keep your mouth shut, or you're dead, friend. You don't want to involve yourself with this. Confrontations can be escalated, or defused – Take it easy. Do what you want. I don't care. you can form friendships, Oh God, you did it. or make enemies as you choose. You killed my cousin you sick son of a bitch! Your actions have consequences and it's up to you to decide just how honorable Arthur is. Should I have killed you, Jimmy Brooks? Me? Shooting and fighting have both been radically improved to make combat deep and engaging at all times. Each weapon has unique characteristics, with realistic reload and recoil that always keeps the player grounded and connected to the action in a gunfight. In a similar way, the bond with your horse is crucial and changes based on your treatment of the animal. Hold still girl. Some breeds are better suited for certain tasks. I got a feller who's been looking for a decent workhorse like this for a while. Your saddle and saddlebags can store extra weapons, along with supplies, and animal carcasses that you pick up while out roaming or hunting. Over time the bond between you and your horse will grow – making them easier to control in tense situations. Yeah, he's a great horse... aside from when the devil's got him. A rich and varied ecosystem thrives in the world - full of predators, prey and scavengers, all smart and sometimes deadly. You wanna come with me? I'll show you how we hunt one. Hunting helps the camp or earns you money. Wound an animal and you'll have to track them down. Animal pelts and other items you find can be traded for cash to use at general stores, gunsmiths, saloons and elsewhere. This is God's own country, and I feel I’m in purgatory. This is a world that is rich in depth and detail, all designed to be explored on horseback or on foot, as you live the fateful journey of a gang of outlaws on the run across America. Boys, let's get 'em! In the next gameplay video we'll look at missions, activities, enemy gangs, robberies, other things to do and much more including the evolution of sharpshooting using the Dead Eye system.

Shadowgun war game review 2020
The sequel to one of the best FPS games on mobile has launched on the App Store for free. Today, I'm going to present my initial thoughts on "War Games" and showcase how it performs across an iPhone 11, 11inch iPad Pro third gen, and an iPad sixth gen. Pause the video now for the game's requirements and supported devices. "Shadowgun Legends" was one of the first FPS games on mobile that actually impressed me, bringing well-balanced gameplay and controls, an in-depth solo and online co-op story, similar to what you may have seen in the "Destiny" series, and it brought very advanced controller support for a mobile first-person shooter. "Shadowgun War Games" is taking a different approach. There is no single-player mode this time. While this is disappointing for me, since I love a good campaign, it looks like MADFINGER Games have taken inspiration from other modern multiplayer FPS games, especially "Over watch".
They have decided to focus solely on fast-paced and competitive multiplayer, and the art style is quite different, presenting a more stylized approach, once again very similar to "Over watch". So I think if you enjoy playing "Overwatch" on PC or console, or even "Paladins", "War Games" is a good mobile alternative. Keep in mind though, the initial launch of the game is a little luck-luster, I'll be honest, offering only a few maps, two games modes, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag, and only five unlockable heroes. Thankfully, MADFINGER are going to release more content in future updates. Still, I'm not going to lie, I would have preferred much more content at launch. Similar to other free-to-play titles, you can buy skins, poses, emotes, avatars, charms, and a Battle Pass, using credits. You can earn these credits or unlock items by getting the daily login rewards, completing challenges,or by buying credits or items with real money. I found it takes a little too long to rack up enough points or to earn items without actually paying to unlock them. Look, I don't mind games giving players the option to pay for cosmetics, gaming companies need to make money. However, at least give more items for free on a regular basis so thegame feels more rewarding. Otherwise, you're just grinding and grinding and grinding and it's a little bit boring. It's worth noting though that none of this makes the game pay-to-win. It only applies to cosmetic items, which generally don'taffect gameplay in matches. You can also watch third-party advertisements after matches to earn extra XP. I'd prefer this not to be a thing in the first place, let's be honest. At least these ads are not forced upon you, instead it's up to you on if you want to click and watch anad to get that extra XP. Moving on, the game supports controllers and is significantly better with one, compared to playing with the touchscreen.
That said, controller support is weird here. When playing with the touchscreen, you automatically shoot when facing an enemy. This applies to controllers as well, unless you enable manual shooting from the settings menu. I would prefer that ifyou connect a controller, it should automatically goto manual shooting mode, but that's just me. Plus, I found the aim sensitivity a little too high, this might be just me again though. I put the aim sensitivity andaim acceleration down to 42. And then, viola, it was a lot better. All that said, I don't dislike the game, I would just consider that constructive feedback. I can say it has really fun gameplay when in matches. Sure, I'd like the matches to be a little bit longer than five minutes, however, there was never a dull moment, and when there are heaps of players in one area, this is where it gets very exciting, love it. All the heroes have a very different play styles and bring different weapons and abilities too. Hopefully more weapons are added in the future though. The graphics are also really fantastic. In fact, the game was made with the Unity engine. On my iPhone 11 and prettymuch every other device I had, you can easily play the game at ultra settings from the settings menu, and it looks really nice. For reference, here is a comparison between the game running at ultra high and low settings. When in low settings, the game doesn't look nearly as sharp, but at least it means older devices have the capacity to run the game.
You can even run it at 90 FPS. That's great if you have a second gen or third gen iPad Pro with a 120 hertz display. It's really good playing a shooter at this frame rate, I have to say that. Anyway, during my three hours of gameplay, I never noticed any major hiccups. The only thing I faced was the application crashing to the home screen when I finished a match, but this only happened twice. And again, twice I was disconnected from a match, due to connection issues. Hopefully MADFINGER Gameswill put out a hot fix to address this issue if it's happening on a regular basis. "Shadowgun War Games"is available right now for iPhone, iPad, and Android. MADFINGER Games might look into Apple TV support in the future. Are you going to play "WarGames" on your iPhone or iPad? Do you think it's a decent FPSgame for touchscreen devices? What do you just think of the game overall? Let me know in the comments. Leave a like if you enjoyed the video and subscribe and turn on notifications to be alerted about future uploads. Thanks for watching.

Hunger games article
Okay so, Today we're going to be reviewing The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I read The Hunger Games for the first time when I was 17 or 18 years old. I've reread The Hunger Games many times these times since then, but not any time super recently. There was a good amount that I forgot. I really enjoyed this reread and I think that a lot of the story still holds up. I had a great time reading it. I'm going to be talking about it in detail, spoilers for all. If you don't have any intentionof rereading the series before the next book comes out, hopefully I can give you a good refresher. Either way, let's chat. One thing that I really appreciate about this book is the amount of time that Suzanne Collinstakes to begin her story.
There's so much content packed in these less than 400 pages, but at the same time,it's such a slow yet engaging beginning. I really think that Susan Collins did a fantastic job with this book. The narrative pros definitely don't hold up over time. But I do think that a lot of it does. We started off in District 13 which is not awesome. Dying of starvation is a normal thing there. If you get to live to have gray hair and wrinkles, then you're considered extremely blessed and people ask what your secret is for a long life because it's just not expected there. I really loved starting out by seeing her love and her affection for Prim, getting many lines that indicate how hardened she's become and how much she's just accepted the way of life when she's out in the woodswith Gale and Gale's just ranting about the Hunger Games and the Capitoland Katniss lets him rant so that he can get it all out in the woods and not say anything in town, but at the same time, she's thinking,"What's the purpose of this? I agree with everything you're saying, but what do we gain by saying it," because she's just accepted her life here. I find the dynamic of Pan-Am interesting. I do wonder what the rest of the world looks like because Pan-Amis North America now according to this book- or not now,but now for the book. I do wonder what the rest of the world is doing while Pan-Am is facing children against each other to the death while they watch on TV. I'm still very interested in this world and the different districts and how they function around the Capitol.
I appreciate how much time we got to get to know life within District13 before the Hunger Games begin. The drawing happens.Prim's name is chosen. Katniss, of course, the one person that Katniss would sacrifice herself for because she knows Prim won't survive in the arena, so she volunteers as tribute and then the boy with the bread, the one who saved her life when her mom wasn't functioning, is the second name that's chosen, which is a bumski for her. I think that one way that this book is lacking is in the depth of the characters. I think that Katniss is very well done. I do think that Peeta isn't built up incredibly well. He's interesting-ish. He has a great sense of humor and he has what comes off to be a fantastic sense of integrity and patiencefor those around him. I appreciate him, but I really don't know much about him or feel like there's very many dimensions to him. He's a nice guy who has a good sense of humor, who loves Katniss and that's pretty much all we get out of him. I would like to know more about him, but that's part of the limitations of just being strictly in Katniss's head and being in the head of a character that is so-- Well, she is, she's self-centered, it's understandable. I get it.I get why she is so inward facing and so determined to just focus on what she needs because of the situation that she's in. It's a reality of it. We don't really get to know other characters with any depth because Katniss doesn't care to know people with any depth except for Prim. Once again, we're given so much time within the preparation for the arena before we even enter into the arena, which- it's funny because when I look at this book, I think of the arena, I think of the Hunger Games, but so much time is spent before the Hunger Games begin. We watch her get changed lot by her prep team. We see her get to know Cinna,I think is how you say his name, as well as constantly argue and butt heads with Haymitch. One thing that I've noticed, I mentioned this in a recent video that when I first read these books, I was team Gale. Since then through my mini rereads,I have since become team neither and I think that Katniss does better on her own. A lot of people agree with that. That's not an original thought, but then there's also so many people that every time I say that Katniss should have ended up single, I get so many comments of people telling me I'm wrong and Peeta was perfect for her, we'll get there. I'm trying to go into this book with a fresh perspective and with a non-biased attitude and just objectively see how Katniss seems to feel about the people around her. I'm reserving judgment at the moment, but that's how I came into this book, how I felt about it before. Coming into it with a fresh perspective, coming into it trying to not have any biases and just see what the story presents. One thing that I noticed is it'snot surprising that Katniss didn't understand that Peeta'sfeelings for her were real. I remember when I first read the books as a 17-year-old or however old I was, it was a YA book,so it had romance in it, it's standard. You got to have a romance.I was looking for the romance. I thought it was Gale.I was on board with Gale.
Then I saw it was Peeta.I was like, "All right, win me over," obviously he's going to be a love interest too because that's what I was conditioned to I believe in what I was reading. I thought Katniss was being dumb by not realizing that Peeta's feelings were genuine. Honestly, it's not that surprising because the amount of time that Katniss and Peeta spend together or having conversations is so limited. Peeta gave her that bread or took a beating so that he could give her that bread when she was about to starve, and he did it because even back then he had these strong feelings for her,but she didn't know it. He never tried to tell her. He was too shy to ever approach her. He wanted to work up the courageto approach her, but he never did. They had no relationshipwhatsoever within District 13, then they both get chosenand they really don't interact at all during their prep. They agreed to be trained together, but most of their interactionsare pretty strained because they're under a lotof pressure and some bad things are happening to them,so it's a lot of snipping at each other. It's like Katniss saying she doesn't have any skills and then Peeta getting irritated and saying she's amazing with a bow. Yes, she does. Then her getting irritated and saying he won every wrestling tournament that we have in District 13, he has skill too, and they're constantly sniping at each other. Even when they have to present a united front because that's their image, they have to be training side by side and they present themselves together and interact smiling and happy. Every time the cameras go dim, that ends, not because of Peeta necessarily, like Peeta will continue joking with her and she'll laugh and then she'll think, "No, we're competitors. We might have to kill each other. We shouldn't do this," which is such a reasonable reaction. She says it, she says, "Don't. Let's not pretend when the cameras are off, let's just not interact when the cameras are off." Peeta agrees to that because what are you going to do? Up to this point, they really don't have very many good interactions. The only good interaction they have before the arena is right before they go into the games and they go up onto the roof and Peeta tells her that he wants to maintain who he is within the arena and Katniss doesn't get it. Even that is such a brief conversation. There's no reason that she should suspect that he has any feelings for her whatsoever. Even when he admits his love for her and she freaks out and pushes him and he falls and slices his hands open on the pot, even at that point, she still thinks it's part of the game. Haymitch also plays it up as if it's just an act because he's trying to prep Katniss to accept all this and Peeta even says she's just mad because she thinks her boyfriend will be upset about me professing my love for you. There's no reason for her to think anything. Anyway, I'm going to come back to this. Let's just get inside the arena. We're officially in the arena. Katniss wants to go after the bow and arrow because it's what she feels is her best chance at survival, but Peeta distracts her and gives her a motion saying like, "Don't do it." Then she doesn't and she makes away with just a small pack. The arena of course ismy favorite part of the book. It's so interesting despite being so terrifying. Actually, before we get too deep into the arena, I forgot to mention Katniss and her prep team. I really appreciate that even though it's not a very exciting part of the book, because it gives such a good glimpse of how oblivious the Capitol people are in that they are so selfish constantly thinking about what they're doing, what they're thinking, how they're feeling. They're excited for Katniss because in their minds, "Oh, this is great, you're going to bein the games, this is good for you," without even realizing how horrible it is. It's interesting how oblivious they are to the reality of what's happening, and yet how bloodthirsty they are because they're excited about the games and excited about the absolute torture that these people go through. I find that dynamic so interesting, and I appreciate that we got to explore that even just a little bit. Okay, back into the arena. The arena is great. I love watching Katniss trying to survive. I think survival stories are some of the most interesting to read in general, and watching Katniss try to survive is fascinating. We have the tracker jacker scenewhere Rue shows her that the tracker jackers are right above her. She saws away while the anthem is playing and drops them on the Careers and Peeta. She gets stung as well. The Careers run away and try to get to the water. Katniss starts hallucinating, and then Peeta comes back and realizes that Katniss isstill there, and instead of killing her tries to get her to leave and ends up taking a hit from Cato because of it. Katniss makes it out alive, she teams up with Rue. Rue, they become a team, share their supplies, Rue becomes her little Prim standing basically, and they go and blow up the supplies. Man, did I love that scene. The Careers have built up this massive mountain of supplies.
They allowed one kid to survive so that he could dig up the platforms that they stand on that are explosive. He planted them around the supplies so that no one could get to the supplies, but he didn't think it through enough and one of them goes off,all the supplies die too. Katniss blows them up and,ah, it's so nice. I love that Katniss gets a genuine injury from thisthat affects her hunting, that affects her well-being, her earnow being half-deaf, partially-deaf. I don't really remember. Not having full hearing in one ear is huge for her as a hunterand huge for her being in the games. She's also just in general banged upfrom being so close to the explosion. This also changes the game because now the Careers aren'tin such a great spot. They have to start surviving insteadof just living off of all this stuff, which is a big deal because they'venever had to survive before. They've always just lived. We have the scenewith Rue which I frankly don't want to talk about because it hurts. It's such a sad scene, so hard to read. I love her,I'm glad Katniss honored her. We move forward because it hurtstoo much to talk about. Next big thing that happenedwithin the arena was that they got the announcementthat if you're in the same district, then you can win together. We can have two winners this year. So Katniss calls out Peeta's nameand then starts hunting him down. This is awesome because Katniss genuinely does thinkthat Peeta is a good person. She does have some sort of affectiontoward him, but also she just knows that if she doesn't team upwith the other tribute of her district and she continues to try to killhim or abandon him despite him being injured,it's not going to be easy going home.
This is where she catches up with him,he reminds her that she should probably go ahead and kiss himbecause they're supposed to be in love. Then they finally starttalking and bonding for real. This is the point where Haymitchstarts sending her messages of, "Give him a kiss, play up the romance, and then you get your prizes. Then you get your donationsfrom your sponsors." She starts playingit up because she thinks, "This is how I survive." Peeta embraces it fully because thisis what he's always wanted. Now let's go backto talking about Katniss and the romance and whatI noticed this time around. Again, I don't think Katnisswas being dumb or obtuse by not picking up on the factthat this was real for Peeta. They had so little interactionoutside of the arena. Then as soon as they got in there, what's the first thing Peeta does? Teams up with the Careertributes to hunt her down. Granted he did spare her life/saveher life when the tracker jackers got everybody and it was chaos, but that was a weird instance for her. Not another clue on top of other clues. It was an isolated thingthat was confusing in the midst of, "This is a guy I've barely interactedwith and he seems nice, but so what?" Then she's playing up the romance because that wastheir tactic from the start. Of course, that's what we need to be doing and she justthinks he's a good actor. Honestly, I don't blameher for any of this with how little interaction they've had up to this point it's not surprising that she doesn't think,"This is genuine. He's in love with me even though we've hardly ever talked." Peeta is bad sick and probably going to die, so then they find out about the Cornucopia, everybody's being called back, they have medicine for Peeta. Have I called him Peter a few times? His name is Peeta. Anyway she goes back so that she can get the medicine for Peeta. Clove, I think was her name, tackles her, gets her down to the ground, is going to torture her and peel her lips off with her knife, but first she mentions Rue.This sets Thresh off. Thresh is also from District 11,and here's my hot take now that I'm readingThe Hunger Games. I still at this point am team Katniss, lives alone because that's how she seems to want to be, but my favorite fella in the book, not for Katniss, just in general, is Thresh.
He seems like such a genuinely good guy. He goes into evasive mode as soon as he gets into the arena. He goes into the wheat fields and just survives out there because he knows how because he's District 11. When it's time for the Cornucopia,he doesn't engage. He stays behind and he plans on just getting his pack and leaving, but then when he hears what Clove is saying about Rue and he realizes that this little girl from his district was potentially tortured just like she's about to torture Katniss,he loses it, kills Clove, turns to kill Katniss, but then once he finds out what Katniss did for her,he lets her go. I love this character so much. I'm sad he's gone.I'm sad we never got any more from him. Anyway, Thresh then took both backpacks from- he took District 1 and District 11. Cato took off into the grain with him. I'm mad that he won, but I'm also happy that he won because that means that Cato was the one that had to deal with the mutts and not Thresh, but it's not a fate for anyone. Now let's go ahead and fast-forward to the mutts. Peeta is doing better, still injured but livable, he can live. They get to the Cornucopia again, but this time it's not to face off against Cato. This time it's to faceoff against the mutts. They get on top of the Cornucopia. The mutts have the eyes and the fur, look and texture of the dead tributes,it's very disturbing. Cato grabs Peeta and is choking him to death. Katniss shoots Cato in the arm. Cato falls over the Cornucopiaand the mutts massacre him for hours. They destroy him to where he's barely recognizable when Katniss sees him, but they won't kill him because one, according to Katniss, this is the last, say, an entertainment according to the Capitol'ssick bloodlust, and two, because it's got to be oneof the tributes that finish him off. The book saysthat he goes from crying out in pain to crying for helpto just whimpering. By the time Katniss finally hangsover the edge to put an arrow through him, she says that she'spretty sure that that lump of meat that was Cato, she's pretty sure that what he says to her is,"Please," because at this point,he just wants out. Honestly, it's so disturbing. I forgot that thisbook really goes there. Between Rue's death and between Cato's death,I cannot believe that this book-- Anyway, Cato is finally gone. The Gong thingy isn't ringing, nothing's happening. Then they finally get the message,"Sorry, we checked the rules. You guys can't survive.Have fun killing each other." This is when Peeta reachesfor his knife, and Katniss, she doesn't immediately try to kill him. She at first is just like,"Well, what do we do now?" Peeta says, "Well,it was always going to end like this. We really should've known,we shouldn't be surprised." Reaches for his knife and thenKatniss reaches for her bow and arrow, gets ready to shoot him,and then by the time she's got her bow and arrow ready, Peeta hasalready dropped the knife to the ground and he just raises his eyebrowsand looks at her and she feels terrible. This one line,I'm going to see if I can find it because man,I thought it was so good. After he drops his knife,he says, "No, do it." Peeta limps toward me and thrustthe weapon back in my hands.
"I can't," I say, "I won't." "Do it before they send those mutts back or something.I don't want to die like Cato," he says. "Then you shoot me," I say furiously shovingthe weapon back at him. "You shoot me,go home and live with it," and as I say it, I know death right here right now would be the easier of the two. "You know I can't,"Peeta says discarding the weapons. "Fine, I'll go first anyway," he leans down and rips the bandage off his leg, eliminating the final barrierbetween his blood and the earth. "No, you can't kill yourself," I say, on my knees, desperately plastering the bandage back onto his wound."Katniss," he says, "it's what I want." "You're not leaving me here alone," I say because if he dies,I'll never go home. Not really. I'll spend the restof my life in this arena. Trying to think my way out. I think the action and the pacing and the emotion of this book holds up, but also there are so many lines that have true depth to them that just make me stop and go,man, that conversation, "Then you kill me. You go home and live with it." Realizing that would be the worst fate of the two for sure. Realizing that if I leave this arena right now, if I kill you and leave,I will spend the rest of my life trying to think my way out of it. Man, that's real stuff and I'm just so impressed. Like I said, there's certain things that don't hold up with this book, but there's so many things that even now reading it as a 27-year-old, having read a lot more books, I still look back at these books and I'm like, man, the emotion and the experience are still there and it's really impressive. The book ends with her admitting to him or just bringing up that Haymitch was giving her signals throughout the games and that this was all just a game or this was all just an act,and then realizing that it never was for Peeta, him being disappointed, but him as always handling it like a champ and just saying, "All right, well,I guess that's just how it is then." It wasn't a really exciting ending, honestly, between them going back into the interview and having to play it up. Then they're going to go visit the districts. The last couple of chapters were an odd way to end it, but that's all right. It tried to build up to book two. I know book two has a lot of mixed opinions out there. Some people think it's justa rehash of book one and it was definitely a middle book syndrome. I personally have always loved book two on the same level as I love book one because I think that it was just as impactful and exciting as book one. I'm excited to see what I think now on this reread. I have always hated book three and once again, I'm excited to see how I feel on this reread because I have changed opinions before. I'm going straight into book two,so I hope that you'll hang out with me for more long reviews. That was my review and discussion of book one in The Hunger Games trilogy. Be sure to chat with me more about it in the comments. I post videos every Sunday,Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I post reviews on off days.I'll see you guys again soon. Bye.
Upcoming games 2020
At the end of 2019 we picked our most anticipatedgames for 2020. And given that we’re about half way throughthe year now, we thought it best to update you, the lovely Rock Paper Shotgun viewer,on the new delights coming to PC in the coming months. Rather than double-dip on Cyberpunk 2077 andthe like – you can hear our thoughts on that in the original video – we’ve picked20 new PC games that we’re banking on being stand-outs in 2020. If we miss your favourite, leave a commentbelow. And, while you’re here, subscribe and ringthe bell so you’ll be among the first to see all our videos that cover these games.
Without any further ado, let’s have a lookat what's launching in the second half of this year! The Marmite-man of video games, Hideo Kojima, returns to PC this year with Death Stranding. When the game hit PlayStation 4 it dazzledand confused in equal measure, but there’s no disputing the fact that the delivery driversimulator is something worth talking about. Starring yer man off The Walking Dead andgrenades that are crafted using piss and shit, the Kojima Productions’ debut sees you carryingcargo across America to heal a divided nation. A nation I hope is in when I ring the doorbellbecause I can’t be arsed going back to the depot with this load. While his games aren’t for everyone, they’rememorable and this is no exception; it’s asynchronous multiplayer that urges you toroll up your sleeves and help restore this world to greatness is a particular highlight. Plus, it’s dead pretty, in fairness. Speaking of former PS4 exclusives, GuerrillaGames brings its action-RPG Horizon Zero Dawn to PC, this summer. As protagonist Aloy, your goal is to savethe world from the corrupted machines that roam the land, whilst also learning aboutwho exactly you are. Ooooh, intrigue.
Granted, Horizon’s side-quests are a tadsame-y, and its secondaries a smidge dull, but the main arc is compelling from beginningto end. And destroying robot crocodiles and jaguarswith your array of weapons is a real thrill, because it’s all about the approach. You need to assess the weaknesses of what’sin front of you before you attack or giant robocrab will absolutely do you. While it was gorgeous on Sony’s consolethree years ago, I’m really looking forward to seeing how this looks when it comes toPC. There’s no questioning Miyazaki’s influenceon Mortal Shell. But plonking this game on the ever-growingSoulslike pile and walking away would be doing it a massive disservice. While it has plenty of the heavy combat seenin FromSoftware’s series, Mortal Shell is also reminiscent of Mega Man. You don’t get powers off the big bads youkill, but you can acquire the skills of fallen warriors that you come across throughout thegame. All you have to do is wear their skin. Like a sort of heroic Leatherface. It looks unforgiving, sick, twisted, and wecan’t wait to get our hands on it.
Like a mix between Mirror’s Edge, Titanfalland Hotline Miami, Ghostrunner sees you assume the role of a Frank Jaeger-like cyberninjain a world of one-hit kills and bullet time dodges. Like Dredd or The Raid, you have to climba tower full of enemies in order to get to the bottom of whatever it is you’re gettingto the bottom of. The developers told us last year to expectaction to get mixed up with new mechanics on the climb to the top, throwing in new gadgetsalong the way. Honestly, this one is mostly being sold onthe exhilarating pace of its play, but if the story can deliver, then Ghostrunner couldturn out to be a really special game. You can get a taster of what to expect viathe demo that’s available on Steam right now. The beloved space flight simulation game,Kerbal Space Program, is getting a sequel. If you found the first one impenetrable, butyou’d still like to have a go, rest easy in the knowledge that the tutorial is saidto be a big improvement on the original game. Don’t fret, experienced explorers, KSP2doesn’t just cater to novices: this time around you’ll be able to build entire colonies,go beyond the Kerbal System thanks to interstellar travel, and build rockets with your friendsin multiplayer. I don’t know about you, but I personallycan’t wait to blame my friends for my shoddy building skills. Expect a fresh batch of meaty horrors in LittleNightmares 2. While I wouldn’t call its predecessor scary,it was unsettling; its imagery burrowed its way into your brain like a menacing littlevole. We haven’t seen much of the puzzle-platformerpast this trailer, but we do know windbreaker-enthusiast Six will be joined by a little boy named Monothat has a fondness for whacking folks over the head with a ladle. Fans shouldn’t be worried about a combatfocus, though: developer Tarsier Studios told our friends at Eurogamer that it’s moreabout giving players the option to tackle situations in different ways. You can’t mow down baddies with an AK, basically. Shame. Because I don’t like the look of that teacher. Chivalry 2 is the sequeliest of sequels. Chivalry: Medieval Warfare had you get upin the faces of your adversaries; Chivalry 2 allows you to perform drive-bys on horseback.
The original featured fights of up to 32 players;Chivalry 2’s battlefields will be populated by 64. The first game brought sword fighting to first-personmultiplayer; do I need to mention the thing about horses again? Torn Banner Studios’ upcoming effort lookslike a refinement of the limb-chopping slapstick fun of eight years ago, and there’s verylittle wrong with that. The big question is how it will hold up againstMordhau - Chivalry is a prettier game, for sure, but we need to go hands on and startchopping hands off to discover the nuanced differences. I anticipate some dismemberment in LittleHope, too. Fewer laughs, though. The second of eight planned entries in developerSupermassive’s Dark Pictures Anthology, Little Hope sees you control five differentteenagers that have found themselves trapped in a ghost town. Like 2019’s Man of Medan, you choose dialogueoptions for your quintet that will impact the tale in both positive and negative ways. The main aim: get out alive with all teensintact. Last year’s game failed to live up to expectationsthe studio set with 2015’s wonderfully schlocky Until Dawn, but my fingers are crossed. I’m hoping for great things… I’m so sorry. Fans have been waiting 20 long years for asequel to Shadows of Amn. And, thankfully, they won’t have to waitmuch longer as Baldur’s Gate 3 enters early access on PC at some point this year. While the combat system ditches real timewith pause for turn-based strategy with more than a hint of Larian Studios’ Divinity:Original Sin 2, it folds in the Dungeons and Dragons fifth edition rulebook in some reallyfun ways, with some great-looking stealth play promising to finally do rogues justice. I could drone on about character customisation, death, companions and everything in between, but you’re better off checking out our Matthew’sextensive preview coverage of the game right here on Rock Paper Shotgun.
The boy’s gone deep on the Dungeons & DragonsCRPG, so be sure to give his videos a watch. On the topic of anticipated sequels, Psychonauts2 is also slated to launch later this year. Announced during the 2015 Keighleys - sorry*Game Awards* - Double Fine’s third-person platformer sees protagonist Raz return andnow he’s a full-blown Psychonaut! The boyhood dream has come true... well, sort of. The psychic spy organisation he’s wantedto join since he was lad is in a spot of bother and it's up to him to save it. As well as classic psi-abilities, Raz gainsnew powers to battle demons in the minds of a whole host of new characters. Will anything rival the weirdness of the original’sdreaded Meat Circus? Fleshy big top or not, Psychonauts 2 has alot to live up to, but from what we’ve seen so far, it's shaping up nicely. From the brains behind Assassin’s CreedOdyssey comes a game with a bit less bloodshed, but just as much of a focus on mythology. Gods & Monsters - not to be confused withthe *great* Ian McKellen film - is a gorgeous-looking open-world action-adventure game that seesyou take on a ton of different beasts, as you aim to save the gods of Ancient Greece. While the Odyssey influence is clear, Ubisoft’sinteractive storybook also seems somewhat influenced by Zelda. As well as an art style that looks quite Breathof the Wild-y, puzzles and dungeons will play a role in the game.
We’ll have to wait and see how this cartoon-likeAC pans out, but colour us intrigued. After Egypt and Greece, Assassin’s CreedValhalla offers the culture shock of shifting action to miserable Britain. Yep, Valhalla sees you play as Eivor, a vikingwarrior that’s looking to take on the Anglo-Saxons on their home turf in 873 AD. Granted, that’s your basic summary, butmy Eivor may be different to yours. On top of being able to choose your gender, dialogue options will once again be present, allowing you to shape your character, as wellas the world around you. What you say will likely impact who you smooch, too, as romance options have also been confirmed. Honestly, there’s so much to the game thatit’s hard to fit it into a few words. Rest assured that we’ll have more Valhallacontent than you can shake a Mjolnir at, later in the year. Thunder Lotus Games, who’ve dabbled in Norsemythology before, have opted for a calmer setting with their upcoming game, Spiritfarer. Described as a cozy management game aboutdying – yep – Spiritfarer has you transport the recently deceased onto the afterlife. So, unlike most games where it’s an afterthought,Spiritfarer is all about death and those who experience it. But, it’s not dark. If anything it appears to celebrate life ratherthan mourn loss. Of all the games on this list, Spiritfareris the odds on favourite to make a few eyes water. Publishers don’t gamble on expensive newideas. IPs. It makes more financial sense to try and sticka superhero in it. And while Square Enix are doing that in TheAvengers, they apologise for that lack of spine with Outriders.
The next game from People Can Fly mightn’thave the most exciting of names, but its premise intrigues: an RPG shooter like a Destiny orAnthem, but made by the people who built the fabulous guns of Bulletstorm. Sign me up. And two of my buddies: this sci-fi treat allowsyou to co-op the campaign. While comparisons have been made to gamessuch as The Division, Outriders isn’t a games-as-a-service game and won’t includeany microtransactions. Can I put my signature down twice? One of my favourite trends in recent yearshas to be racing games with story modes. Even when they’re awful – see 2015’sNeed For Speed – they often have a certain charm about them. Codemasters is coming strong with the careermode for Dirt 5, though, as they’ve drafted in Nolan North and Troy Baker to lead theirvoice cast. Not too shabby. On the track, you can expect the quality off-roadracing the series is known for. Taking inspiration from Forza Horizon, Dirt5 will feature changing seasons, which means a course can play very differently given thetime of the year. From the trailer we know events will be takingplace in New York, Brazil, China and Norway and more will no doubt be revealed as we getcloser to launch. Remember Honey, I Shrunk The Kids? Obsidian Entertainment does, because that’sclearly the inspiration for the next game from the people behind The Outer Worlds.
In Grounded, you play as a kid that’s beenminiaturised – sadly not by Rick Moranis. Your main goal is to survive the danger thatlurks in the back garden, like hungry creepy crawlies. Could be a tough one for arachnophobes. While this is a survival game, there’s moreto Grounded than just fighting off ants and building shelters: there’s a story. I hope it ends in a big bowl of Cheerios likethe film. It obviously won’t be fully-formed in July,as it’s launching as an early access game, but Grounded has serious potential. This year will see the grand strategy RPGhybrid Crusader Kings return with the third instalment in the series. In CK3 you play as the head of a dynasty thatrules over a group of people. You can be a bastard, you can be nice, it’sup to you. Once you pop your clogs, you then assume controlof that character’s heir and the cycle begins anew. Unlike other games of this ilk, Crusader Kingsplaces more emphasis on the role-playing aspect, meaning you have to consider how your actionscould affect your current relationships, as well as future ones. It’s a beefy one, but it looks set to pleasefans when it comes out later this year. From the co-creator of Halo comes Disintegration,a sci-fi FPS-slash-RTS. On a gravity-defying motorcycle, you orderyour loyal ground troops to do your bidding, which is often “move over there and thenshoot that baddie in the face.” However, while all that’s going on, youneed to be mindful of other airborne commanders that will try to have a pop at you; use yourhog’s arsenal on them before they do the same to you and you’ll be victorious inboth Disintegration’s multiplayer and single-player modes. While the shooter pedigree is what may getyou in the door, we’re expecting the strategic layer will get you to stick around for longerthan a match or two. Sable is sure to be an indie darling. Its Studio Ghibli-inspired artstyle has wowedmany convention goers over the last couple of years. I mean, just look at it.
There’s an undeniable resemblance to thatgamecompany’sJourney with its sun-kissed desert that you zoom along, but Sable doesn’t have a traditionalbeginning, middle and end: the journey in this case is dictated by where you go andwhat you interact with. I’m a sucker for the combat-free, puzzle-fullexperience that Sable guarantees, so I cannot wait to get my hands on this. Leave the best till last, right? Yakuza: Like a Dragon is coming to PC thisfecking year! If you’re wary about jumping on at thislate stage in the series, don’t be. Sure, it’s the seventh mainline entry, butit’s quite a departure from the games that revolved around beating up menacing men. While the protagonist switch from Kazuma Kiryuto new boy Ichiban Kasuga is obviously notable, the turn-based combat system is the most strikingchange for this beloved series. It’s not about mashing buttons anymore. Instead, you need to choose the actions ofKasuga and his party carefully: do you go for a big AOE attack on a group of thugs,or are you better off to cure your bleeding status first? This is still Yakuza, though, so expect tonsof mini-game delights like karaoke and darts to return, as well as some new additions likekart racing. Yeah, I can’t wait either. Getting this down to 20 games was quite difficult- it’s a good thing we’ve got that earlier list of another 20.
That you should watch right now.. 2020’ssecond half of the year is shaping up to be a tremendous few months for video game releases, but I’m sure there’s a few on your wishlist that didn’t make our list.
Top 10 pc games 2020
Hello and welcome to Rock Paper Shotgun. I was about to say things are hotting forJuly, but I looked at the local weather forecast and it’s shaping into an absolute sh***r.Luckily, if the weather continues like this - and how’s this for segue - we’ll haveplenty to keep us occupied on PC. There’s also Ubisoft and Xbox doing theirshows as part of the neverending fake E3, but those are the games of tomorrow - thisvideo is about the new PC games in the here and now. And here are some picks… Death Stranding is an obvious biggie in July,as Hideo Kojima’s post-apocalyptic, postman simulator comes to PC. This excites me on a technical level as it’sthe first outing of Guerilla Game’s Decima engine on PC, which we’ll see soon in theirHorizon Zero Dawn PC port.
Death Stranding was a staggering looking gameon PS4, but now we’ll see the photorealistic models of it’s all-star cast at true 4Kand clamber around its vast landscapes with frame rates unlocked - not not to mentionultra wide monitor support, which is a perfect fit for hills and valleys you explore as himout of The Walking Dead. The game itself is kinda mad - it’s a hikingsimulator with a big focus on balance and weight distribution, but there are also bitswhere you throw grenades made out of your own blood at ghosts. And it gets even weirder on PC with side missionsthemed around Portal and Half-Life, made in collaboration with Valve. Whatever Death Stranding is, it certainlyain’t boring, and we’ll hopefully have a full review before July 14th. What’s black and white and a red all over? Sounds like the setup for a terrible joke, but it’s actually the pitch of Othercide, a turn-based tactics game from Lightbulb Crewthat drops you in a monochromatic world where the only flashes of colour are the scarvesworn by your squad of sisters and the blood they spill in battle. While the core of the game looks familiar,as you exploit the turn order along the bottom of the screen, and stretch action points intodeadly combos, Othercide does look much more surreal than your typical XCOM-alike: youbuild squads from a pool of daughters, who you can also sacrifice to heal each other, and maybe pass on a few of their traits. If the squad wipes out you can purchase newpowers to make the next run easier - so there are a few hints of a roguelite about the game. It basically looks like it’s going to forceyou into a corner, and ask you to make a lot of tough calls.
A stressful end to the month, when it arriveson 28th July. If, like me, you spend at least a few minutesevery day thinking about the golden age of point and click adventures, you’ll likelybe thrilled that Beyond A Steel Sky is heading our way in July. Or to put it in terms genre fans will understand:combine good news with brain. It’s the follow-up to Revolution’s 1994classic Beneath A Steel Sky, a sci-fi epic set in a desolate Australia - very Mad Max- where people live in vast cities. Beyond has swapped 2D for 3D, much like Revolution’smore modern Broken Sword games, and promises to inject a bit more life into puzzles withNPCs that follow more naturalistic behaviours that you have to manipulate as part of yourpuzzle solving. You can also hack Union City’s digital infrastructure, changing the behaviour of devices to further mess with those digital lives. If you want to really prep for the game, theoriginal Beneath A Steel Sky is free on GOG.com. What better time to get familiar with it? The announcement of Rogue Legacy 2 comingto early access is a really welcome development. Rogue Legacy 1 was ahead of the Rogue-litecurve when it arrived in 2013: giving us a 2D hack and slasher where every death putyou in a new castle and the shoes of your child, complete with whatever weird genealogicalaffiliations they inherited. Here in 2020 it feels like every other gameis a Roguelite, but this sequel looks so improved it’ll likely rise to the top all over again. Just to list some of the improvements: noweach class has a specific weapon to master, there are heirlooms that grant new powersadding more of a Metroidvania vibe, there are gold bonuses for taking on more debilitatingcharacter traits to reward the hardcore, while new accesibility options will help strugglingheroes, and new level generation technology to create even better biomes to explore.
This is on top of new traits, classes, spells, equipment… listen, I know it’s lazy to just list stuff, but the 23rd of July can’tget here soon enough. Releasing a paid multiplayer game into a landscapedominated by a free-to-play behemoth is a bold move, but then Rocket Arena is hardlya timid shooter. For starters, everyone’s armed with rockets- the clue’s in the title - and it swaps traditional death for a Smash Bros-type systemwhere you drive up damage in order to knock opponents from the arena with a massive blast. What follows is a colourful smackdown withhuge explosions lighting up the world, while cartoon-y characters activate skills to doeverything they can to stay in the arena. One of my colleagues played a preview buildand said it’s great fun, and it has all the cosmetics and season structure that keepsus busy in Apex Legends or Fortnite. But the big difference is price: can a 25pound multiplayer game hold its own in this day and age, or will it go the way of Lawbreakers? RIP. It’s fate will be decided beginning on 14July. Grounded is an odd one: Obsidian’s firstgame since being bought by Microsoft and instead of making, y’know, the RPGs they’re famousfor, it’s a survival game about shrunken kids lost in the back garden. I’ll admit, Honey I Shrunk The Kids:
TheGame wasn’t what I personally hoped for from this studio union, but the recent demopartially won me over. The process of smashing up bugs and plantsto get the building blocks for items and shelter is familiar to a thousand early access survivalgames, but the difference here is a lack of early access jank: it all seems quite polishedand neat, and the giant garden setting creates fun pockets of surreal discovery as you hideinside soda cans and watch the sunset through the jungle canopy of an overgrown lawn. Of course, if you’re familiar with our videosyou’ll know I have this massive weed growing on my patio, so I don’t have shrink forthe same effect. Anyway: this is still early access, of course,so expect some bugs, of both the insect and technical variety. It’s on Steam, but is included in an XboxGame Pass subscription, so that’s a much cheaper way of trying it out with some pals. Maid of Sker? More like Maid of Scares, am I right?
Well, hopefully I am: this is a first personsurvival horror game from Wales Interactive - and true to their name, it’s based onWelsh folklore. You’re exploring a hotel patrolled by blindmonsters, so every creaky floorboard or scenery bump is an invitation for them to crush yourskull in. It sounds a lot like the Jeff section fromHalf-Life Alyx, but stretched to an entire game - you can even clasp your hand over yourmouth to hold your breath in - just not too long or you’ll gasp your way into the grave. There’s also a strange orb - a phonic modulator, apparently - that can deafen enemies, though it comes with limited ammo - which is wherethe whole survival horror thing kicks in. It’s this panicked resource management thatinterests me - too many horror games are just walking simulators with jump scares. Will this be something more? We’ll find out at some point in July. If that last game was the Maid of Sker, thisnext one features tracks made for cars. Made for Scars. Skars? Okay, that doesn’t work. But hopefully Trackmania will, although fora game out, er, tomorrow, there’s been remarkably little shown of Nadeo’s latest user-generatedracer. It’s pitched as a remake of Trackmania Nations, which was a free version of the game with a big emphasis on online competition - thatseems to run into this Trackmania with a tiered pricing model that gives you more communityfeatures for more money. Of course, the real appeal lies in hooningaround impossible track designs, livened up here with a bigger building space, new iceand dirt surfaces, as well as special modifier track pieces that can put everyone into slowmotion for that dramatic photo finish.
The new structure looks like it’ll serveup seasons of new tracks and highlight community builds, so if you’re not into constructionyourself, you can sit back and let everyone else do the hard work. Nice. If Trackmania’s track designing sounds atad conservative, you might want to check out Rock Of Ages 3 Make & Break, where youcan build winding obstacle courses for people to race boulders down. Rock of Ages has always been barking mad:a blend of tower defence as you attempt to protect yourself from an onslaught of rollingdeath and then switching to the rocks themselves as you steer giant lumps of spinning destruction- or cheese - through your enemy’s defences. It’s all wrapped up with hand animated stylethat echoes Terry Gilliam’s Monty Python animations. It’s… a bit much. But when you’ve been stuck in doors forwhat feels like 15 years, a bit much is quite nice. The room I work in is increasingly turninginto a furniture store, so the fantasy of smashing everything to f**k is really appealing. I plan to let off some steam on 21 July. If you watched our recent Steam Game Festivalstream you’ll know i was a little dismissive of Destroy All Humans! I played it on some console about 500 yearsago and it was fine. Y’know: open world cartoon violence forteenagers not old enough to buy GTA. My expectations were low for a remake andso I was pleasantly surprised by what a nice job Black Forest Games appear to be doingwith this one: it’s not a simple HD remaster, but a full makeover that really punches upthe visual chaos of Crypto’s alien rampage. Now, I’m saying that some flashy explosionsare going to radically reinvent a simple sandbox action game, but there is something very reassuringabout this kind of mid-tier console adventure, the kind of game that vanished as the budgetgap between AAA and Indie got out of hand. I imagine it’ll be a bright, colourful wayto waste ten or so hours come the 28th of July.
Before I wrap up this video I also wantedto give a quick shout to a few more things on my radar: there’s Fight Crab, which I’veonly really selected because it’s called Fight Crab. I probably shouldn’t say more as, of course, the first rule of Fight Crab is we don’t talk about Fight Crab. I’m also intrigued by Roki, a point-and-clickstyle adventure influenced by Scandinavian folklore - if you type Scandinavian folkloreinto google images you get this picture of a man talking to a fox, which is the realreason I included it. There’s also Drake Hollow, which is aboutbuilding villages for vegetable creatures and bashing out the brains of anything thatwants to eat cute vegetable creatures. There’s also Neon Abyss, which is one ofthose hundreds of roguelites mentioned in the Rogue Legacy 2 bit, bit with a reallyhectic looking arsenal and fizzy sprite work. Honestly, I could list another 20 more greatgames coming to PC this month, but I’m really hungry and want to go and eat some cereal. Why not help me do my job for me and recommendmore great games in the comments, which I’ll then read while eating said cereal. We’ve got loads of great previews linedup for the next two weeks, so why not subscribe to channel for those by hitting the big buttonin the middle. And watch some of our recent videos on everythingfrom Biomutant to Humankind. As always, please write something nice underthe video and we’ll hopefully see you soon. Thanks for watching. Bye for now.
